Industrial Revolution Definition

The industrial revolution is defined as a period of innovation and heavy industrialization which happened between the late 1700 and early 1800. The industrial revolution started in Great Britain and spread quickly throughout the world. If I talk about the American industrial revolution, it is more commonly known as the second industrial revolution. The starting period was the 1820’s, and it remained until 1870. During this period, people witness the mechanization of agriculture along with textile manufacturing.

There was also a revolution in other domains like power, steamships, and railroads. They had a y really great effect on social, cultural, and economic conditions. Industrial Revolution gave birth to many significant inventions like the telephone, the sewing machine, the exterior light bulb, and combustible engines. Although there were so many positive effects of the industrial revolution, there were also some factors that produced some negative impacts like there was an increase in pollution, the introduction of child labor, and unimaginable working conditions.

Other Industrial Revolution Definition

In other words, the Industrial Revolution can be defined as the process of making things from hands to the manufacturing of thing from different equipment. The term industrial revolution was first used by an English economist called Arnold Toynbee.

Brief History Of Industrial Revolution

Digging into more history, the historian says there are two periods of industrial revolution term as the First Industrial Revolution, which lasted from the mid-18th century to 1830 and was mostly restricted to Great Britain.

The Second Industrial Revolution began in the mid-19th century and remained until the 20th century and contained a variety of countries and continents like Britain, Continental Europe, North America, and Japan; after the 20 century, the second industrial revolution started to take other countries of the world as well.

Going Into Depths Of Industrial Revolution

We still see the impacts of the industrial revolution on daily life and how it shaped the way business operated and how people lived, although it happened more than 200 years ago. Industrial Revolution is to thank for the development of factory systems, and the industrial revolution is the factor that gave birth to capitalism and the modern cities.

Impact On Industrial Revolution On American Farmers

Talking specifically about the USA, Americans used to make their living through farming and were born and raised in rural communities. As more factories started to operate, people started working for the big companies which had their location set in urban areas. Although the wages were quite low and the working conditions were not really good, but the businesses provided a better living than farming.

Impact On Industrial Revolution On Product Efficiency

Industrial Revolution is also to thank for the increase in production efficiency. There were many inventions that directly increased productive efficiency. Let’s take an example of the steam engine, the steam engine highly reduced the time for the manufacturing of the different kind of products, and when the processes become efficient, and they used machine used for the manufacturing of goods, it reduced the labor work which automatically led to the reduction in prices for the products. It was an invitation for the new customers for buying products and services.

Policies From US Government

Here one thing is to praise is the policies that were introduced by the United States Government. These policies uplifted the local businesses, and more taxes were implemented on the imported goods. It discouraged the people from buying foreign goods and encouraged them to root for the country made products. Most of this was done for the encouragement of the use of local Steel, and this strategy was successful as there were railroads and wages began increasing during the American industrial revolution.

Industrial Revolution Inventions Timeline

Some Industrial Revolution Inventions Timeline is given as under.

Cotton Gin

Cotton Gin was one of the main inventions during the industrial revolution. It was invented by Eli Whitney and was invented in 1794. Before this cotton Gin was introduced in the industry, people used to remove fibers by the use of their hands. It was very tiring and very time-consuming. The invention of this product quite improvised the profits of cotton farmers. The invention of the cotton gin encouraged many farmers for consideration of cotton at the main crop. It had a wide impact on farmers across America. When seeds and fibers started to separate more easily through the use of the machine, it made a huge impact on farmers for the manufacturing of cotton goods like linen/ it also impacted the more cotton growth and the production of cottonseed oil.

Modern Roads

When the industrial revolution came, it also brought modern roads. If we talk about the quality of Britain’s roads before the industrial revolution took place, it really worked British roads were quite poor in quality and also had very low-quality maintenance. But when the industrial revolution came, John McAdam came up with the road-building technique that revolutionized the road construction for the greater good. He called them macadamized roads, and they are proved to be the greatest advancement in road building. This invention came after 1750.

Introduction Of Modern Battery

The first modern battery was introduced in 1800 and first developed by the Aleksandra Volta as he developed the voltaic Pile. But the mass production of the first modern battery was begun by William shank in 1802. if I talk about the first rechargeable battery it was introduced in 1859 by Gasten Plantae who was the French physician as; the advancement was made there was the introduction of a Nickel-cadmium battery, which was developed by Waldemar Junger in 1899. The invention that was made by Volta made a high impact on the scientific experiments carrying around the world and paved the way in the field of electrochemistry.

First Factory

One of the most vital breakthroughs of the industrial revolution happened in 1721 when a factory was opened by John Lombe in Derby. The factory worked in a way that it utilized water power for the mass production of silk product. When the factory got completed, it was the first successful Silk throwing mill and is still considered to be as one of the first fully mechanized factories in the world.

Gaslighting was first introduced in 1792; the first use of gas lighting utilized coal gas. The lamp was also invented in 1799, which made use of the gas distilled from the wood. And when this method was introduced, gas lighting became the main source for the street lighting throughout the United States and Europe. However, this was replaced with low-pressure sodium lighting in 1930.

Fourth Industrial Revolution Inventions

The fourth Industrial Revolution is making a big impact on society. The fourth Industrial Revolution is about to make some bigger changes and has already resulted in too many of the innovations that we see today. Some of the Fourth Industrial Revolution Inventions are given as under.

The Internet Of Things

The first gift from the fourth Industrial Revolution is the internet of things. Industry 4.0 will revolutionize how we use the equipment. Many of the equipment and devices can be controlled remotely the IoT enabled devices are making a great impact on daily life and making the processes automated for both industries and homes. Some IoT enabled devices such as sensors can also help in the reduction of air pollution. Along with that internet of things is also making our life easier. We can save energy and keep our homes at a specific temperature.

Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence is a field of computer science and is paving its way for becoming a vital element of modern software in the upcoming years. And this comes with both a threat and an opportunity. Artificial intelligence is going to work as both defensive and offensive elements for Cyber operations. The use of artificial intelligence also drives the importance given to data because It requires a large amount of data for the training purpose. The use of artificial intelligence will add more luxury to human life and will lead to the more creation of AI-enabled robots. For the upcoming years, the use of artificial intelligence will extend to a list of industries and have many commercial social and industrial applications. It is also going to impact the everyday life of humans by the optimizations of transparency, accountability, and privacy.

Virtual Reality And Augmented Reality

Virtual reality and augmented reality are two of the main elements of the fourth industrial revolution .they hold power for the enhancement of Cyber-physical systems and provide ease to the customers in different kinds of fields and sectors. They are going to revolutionize the idea of manufacturing and will play an integral part in the fourth industrial Revolution; AR and VR are not just only for entertainment and gaming but have the simulation of many things like doing surgery without a physical body, operating of machinery without having professional present. AR and VR technology are largely affecting the retail, travel, education, real estate, Sports, basically all kind of sectors they have extensive uses in many sectors and areas.
