RTD

Another type of electrical resistance temperature sensor is the resistance temperature detector or RTD. RTDs are precision temperature sensors made of highly transparent metals such as platinum, copper, or nickel, wrapped in a coil, and change in electrical resistance as a function of temperature, similar to a thermistor. Thin film RTDs are also available. These parts have a thin film of platinum deposited on a white ceramic substrate.

Resistance temperature detectors have positive temperature coefficients (PTC). Their output is highly linear and produces very accurate measurements of temperature.

Now that you know the usage of RTDs and how they work, you are probably eager to have one of them in your electric project. To see the RTD price or to get expert advice about these products, contact us: at +9714337738.
