Infrared Thermometer - to measure the infrared intensity
An Infrared thermometer, also known as an IR thermometer or a pyrometer, is a temperature-sensing tool that measures an object’s temperature without contacting the surface. This enables quick, contactless measurements to be made from a distance.
Anything that has mass, emits some amount of energy from its surface. This energy is in the form of IR rays. An Infrared thermometer employs a lens to focus the IR rays on a detector. This detector is also known as a thermopile, which is some thermocouples in series or parallel. As the IR rays focus on the thermopile, It will generate an amount of heat. The thermopile transforms this heat into the voltage output. The output is used to determine the temperature, and at last, the temperature will be displayed on the infrared thermometer screen.
Since a laser is used to help the thermometer work, it is sometimes referred to as a non-contact thermometers, laser thermometer, or temperature gun.
It's crucial to notice that an infrared thermometer can only measure the surface temperature. So if you want to measure the inner temperature of an object, it wouldn't be the answer to your need.
The other factor you need to consider is the distance to the spot (DS) parameter. Here at Dubai sensor, we offer infrared thermometers from forehead type to ones with 50:1 DS. An infrared thermometer with 50:1 DS can measure the temperature of a 1 square inch surface accurately from a 50-inch distance long.
These thermometers are currently employed in many industrial and laboratory temperature control procedures.
