Heat-Proof RFID Tags for Automotive Painting Process

Suspension coil springs move through the plant on dedicated transport frames. RFID tags are installed on the frames. Read/write modules (RWMs) check the tags throughout the process. They also update a centralized control system.

RFID tags cannot withstand high Temperature:

In the heat-curing process, the curing temperature reaches 250oC. Notably, this temperature lasts for more than 30 minutes. Such a high Temperature is unbearable for RFID tags. Complicated mechanical preparations were previously required to disburden tools from raised temperatures.

The requirements of suitable RFID tags:

 • Resistance to high-temperature
 • High reliability
 • The service life of at least 2000 temperature cycles
 •  Compatibility with existing RWMs
 •  Compliance with ISO/IEC 15693

Heat-Proof RFID Tags for Automotive Painting Process

High-temperature high-frequency (HF) RFID tags are the right solution. They are a type of passive transponders.

High-temperature high-frequency (HF) RFID tags features:

• suitable for working at temperatures up to 250oC
• no need for an internal energy source
• compliance with ISO/IEC 15693

• tolerating surface contamination due to ConIdent® technology used in them
silicone-free construction

• anti-contamination

The tags' frame isn't restrained from moving around its vertical axis. So, the tag's path varies from frame to frame. The device permits for this motion. It also provides reliable outcomes. Such outcomes might be impartial of the precise tag position.
