The Autonics proximity sensor PRD18-14DP features outstanding noise protection and stable sensing performance due to its specialized sensor IC developed by Autonics. This inductive proximity sensor comes in a round cylindrical shape, sensing distance of 14mm, sensing side diameter and housing size of m18 and Non-shield (non-flush) installation. The standard cylindrical inductive sensor can be used in diverse applications requiring non-contact detection of metallic objects.

Body

The PRD18-14DP features standard cable type connection. This cable covers the sensor's 3 wires.

Sensing specifications

This inductive sensor's sensing side diameter is 18 mm. The maximum distance that this Autonics inductive proximity can detect its standard sensing target, which is a 40x40x1 mm piece of iron, is 14 mm. This so-called sensing distance differs from one sensing target to another, based on their material, size, etc.

Although almost no one talks about the setting distance of an inductive sensor, it is a big deal to know this concept. Every sensor can detect its standard sensing target in a specified range, no matter what changes occur in ambient temperature, voltage fluctuations, etc. This distance, which is called the setting distance, is from 0 to 9.8 mm for this proximity sensor.

Control output

The PRD18-14DP features PNP Normally Open control output. PNP stands for Positive-Negative-Positive transistors.

There are limitations in temperature and humidity in which PRD18-14DP proximity sensor is used:
