Special Pressure Sensors and Remote Transmitters for New Groundwater Monitoring Systems

Grace satellites have been measuring groundwater levels since 2002. To increase the accuracy of these measurements, the Polish Geological Institute has been using special data collectors since 2007. It is necessary to read the measurements made with these loggers on-site, which of course is not an easy task.

Due to these issues, new and special surface sensors and special remote transmitters have been replacing loggers for several years. These transmitters require low energy and are very strong due to their stainless steel enclosures. The modules of these transmitters help to store the data and send them to the main control station. In addition, with the help of these modules, data transfer is done via FTP, email and GSM/GPRS. A capillary free, extremely stable absolute pressure sensor can be used with the help of a barometer that is installed inside the module and measures the water level.

The error band of these sensors is very low. The use of remote transmitters along with these sensors causes the battery inside the sensor to require a very small amount of additional energy. These systems are very reliable.
