Detecting Straight-Ahead Status of Rear-Wheel Steering by Rugged Inductive Sensors

Modern multi-purpose off-road vehicles offer four-wheel drive and front- and rear-wheel steering. 

For complete control, the driver uses four-wheel steering. The rear axle should lock in the straight-ahead status when reverting to the default two-wheel steering configuration. It inhibits the misalignment of the rear wheels.

We need a sensor to affirm the straight-ahead status before the rear axle gets locked.

The solution:

These sensors find the status of the flange out as they pass over the sensing face.
