Function:

The setup assembly has a curved segment on the top. The sensor's job is to detect the highest point of the curved segment. It also verifies the height of the completed component. The small beam spot of this laser sensor is critical. By focusing on the sensor's beam on the curved segment, while the appropriate gear is in place, the beam will be deflected, and the sensor will not change the output. However, if the incorrect component (a higher component) is set up, it will block the sensor beam and cause the sensor output to change. By using a sensor with indispensable changeover outputs, the same sensor can be used to affirm each model. We need only one selection switch.
