It has been stated in the new survey by the YouGov that more than half of the residents of the United Arab Emirates are taking primary measures for the reduction of air pollution and about a quarter of United Arab Emirates are claiming for doing it regularly. And the third population of the United Arab Emirates does it when they remember. The following data and lines are totally based upon the research conducted by YouGov.
When the World Environment Day happened, the survey asked the residents of the United Arab Emirates about the necessary steps they take for the reduction of air pollution around them. The majority of the United Arab Emirates population which is about 69% said that that they tried to use less amount of electricity at home by turning off appliances and equipment when they are not in use. They also use efficient fixtures and so on. Women are more involved then men in checking pollution in this manner there was a ratio of 74% to 66%. Residents of the United Arab Emirates also set the air conditioner on 24 degrees and about 61% of the United Arab residents believe in recycling or reusing products. 58% of them wash a full load in a machine or dishwasher and 56% of them take shorter showers in this way they are tackling the pollution which is present around them.
They also consider the fact that improvement of the quality of air which is present inside is almost as important as the quality of air present on the outside and squared necessary for the reduction of household pollution. about 59 percent of the people which is considered as a heavy amount make use of environmentally e safe cleaning products around 58% of the United Arab Emirates pollution keeps indoor plants for improvement of the quality of air. About 47% of the people maintain and improve the quality of the air which is present on the inside.

About 58% of the people constantly tune their engine and about 49% of the people use the Carpool service or public transport for the reduction of the car use, directly contributing to the reduction of the pollution.
about 30% of the people which can also be stated as 3 in 10 people stated that they are investing their resources in air tracking or purification devices which is one of the less common methods for the pollution control as people do not know much about these products and the less acknowledgment could be a reason for the fewer investments on the air tracking and purifying devices. About 28% of the people stated that they are totally unaware of this kind of method for the reduction of pollution.
this research has concluded that about 48% of the residents of the United Arab Emirates which is quite close to the half of the population have stated that they themselves or their family members have once in a lifetime suffered from the irritation in their eyes, nose, throat which is the result of air pollution and about 35% of the people which is more than a third have also undergone skin allergy and about 34% of the people have suffered from breathlessness due to the polluted air. There are about 28% of the people who have suffered severe illness like respiratory ailments such as asthma and about 40% of the people have suffered from mental health issues such as depression or anxiety due to the pollution present in the air.
Pollution Control Policies In UAE & Air Pollution Policy
Pollution control policies in UAE and air pollution policy are quite effective and are taken into serious accounts by the UAE Government. United Arab Emirates government has started setting up a wide range of national initiatives and took a series of steps to help climate change and to tackle it’s After Effects by the employment of new technologies, coming up with innovative solutions and best practices some of them is the adoption of green energy option, the transforming of the national economy into a low carbon green economy, the investment of green architecture and sustainable building, the sustainability of the transport sector, ensuring ecological footprint, the interest in the development of carbon removal banks and many others. The initiatives taken by the UAE include a number of policies to reduce pollution. These policies to reduce pollution are making quite an impact. Some of them are described in detail.
The Adoption Of A Renewable And Green Option
Influence factors in climate change have greater involvement of the energy sector and the available data states that the involvement of the energy sector incorporates different kinds of factors like Electricity production, oil extraction, refining water, manufacturing, and transportation. and it accounts for about 80% of the emissions which are produced at the national level and as it holds so much importance the government of the United Arab Emirates has been paying vital attention to this sector. the development of the Abu Dhabi future energy company call "Masdar" which was developed in 2006 served as a turning point of the diversification of energy and this initiative was taken by Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed president of the state and helps to deal with the issue of sustainability in general and talking particularly the climate change.
Development Strategy For Going Green
The green economy is considered as one of the important roadmaps for sustainable development. Talking generally this approach has an objective for the enhancement of the role of economic growth in the acquisition of Sustainable development and fighting poverty while taking care of the expansion of the natural resource base by the coupling growth and resources. This approach was adopted by the United Arab Emirates in 2012 when Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum who is the vice president Prime Minister and ruler of Dubai initiated the Emirates green development strategy having the slogan of green economy for sustainable development for the transformation of the national community to a green low-carbon economy. the development of which is based on knowledge and innovation there are six aspects of this strategy which are defined as the green energy path, the green investment track, the green city path, the climate change path, the green life path, and the green technology path.
In the year 2015, the Council of Ministers made sure the approval of the mechanism for the implementation of this strategy and the green agenda which was drafted after studies meetings and workshops in which both Government and particle private sectors participated.
There are about 1.9 million vehicles in 2008 which were risen to 3.2 million vehicles in 2015 and it has become one of the most important challenges which are the growth in the road transport sector in the United Arab Emirates. These vehicles are highly dependent upon gasoline and diesel as fuel and there is a very small number of vehicles that operate on natural gas. As the transportation sector has played a very vital role in the development of the economy but the steady and the Rapid increase in the number of vehicles present in the United Arab Emirates has clearly resulted in the negative impacts and has produced challenges on more than one level. It has is also resulted in an increase in pollution levels in cities and urban centers. It has resulted in the rise of hazardous and non-hazardous waste. It has also resulted in an increase in the level of carbon emissions. The total carbon emission percentage is about 15% of the transportation industry of the total carbon emissions in the country. In order to make sure the reduction of the negative effects of the land transport center and to sustain its role in the development, all the related authorities have taken a lot of steps including the setting up of national standards for emission level from the land transportation. The UAE government has set up standards for the periodic examination of the gaseous pollutant masses which come out of the exhaust and Valley e as a condition for permitting the use of vehicle there have been improvements in the fuels used as fuel for vehicles.
The sector of the building is the single largest source of the emissions of greenhouse gases globally and if I talk particularly about the United Arab Emirates. This sector is solely responsible for the construction of more than 70% of the total electrical energy in the Emirates and about 40% of the total Water. But there are so many sustainability patterns in the sector which present a great opportunity for the reduction in the consumption and production of pollutants and their emission. The United Arab Emirates has adopted the green architecture approach which is one of the main elements for this kind of aspects.
