Transducer

A transducer is generally applied to a device that takes a physical phenomenon such as pressure, temperature, humidity, flow, etc. and converts it to an electrical output. The process of converting one form of energy to another is known as transduction. In general for pressure transducers they have a millivolt or voltage output.

Even though the term transducer normally indicates the use of a sensor/detector, any device that transforms energy can be considered a transducer. A transducer is commonly used in measuring devices.
