Pressure

Pressure is defined as the physical force exerted on an object. It is the amount of force applied to a unit area and is calculated by dividing the applied force by the area of the contact surface that the force is acting on. The force applied is perpendicular to the surface of objects per unit area. The basic formula for pressure is F/A (Force per unit area). Unit of pressure is Pascals (Pa) which is the name given to one newton per square metre (N/m^2).

Pascal’s law states that a change in pressure at any point in an enclosed fluid, at rest, is transmitted undiminished to all points in the fluid.
