Excess Gain Indication (System Reserve Indication)

The excess-gain indication circuit detects the excess radiation power that falls on the light incidence surface. The light receiver processes the light from the light incidence surface. The excess gain can decrease over time in response to contamination, changes in the target's reflection factor, and the emitter diode's aging. So reliable operation can no longer be guaranteed.

As a result, some devices come with a second LED, which turns on when less than 80% of the available operating distance is being used. Models with an excess-gain output provide the users with the excess-gain signal available for additional processing.

As a result, the sensor identifies unreliable operation conditions early.
