Correction Factor

The sensing range is the distance between the sensor's front surface and the object. The material of the metallic object affects the sensing distance. For example, steel is identified better than copper. As a result, Manufacturers note correction factors or reduction factors in their data sheets. The nominal sensing range is multiplied by the specified factors to determine the actual sensing range for each metal.
