Intelligent Solutions for Monitoring the Water Supplies

Monitoring and maintaining complex water pipelines are very challenging matters. Numerous systems have been designed and developed to monitor these pipelines and to report and store data. The following are the steps to be monitored and some monitoring equipment designed for these steps:

1. Water source monitoring:
A liquid level transmitter, an intelligent liquid level transmitter, and a remote monitoring terminal monitor the level of groundwater and surface water. This device collects data in real-time and is low consumption. An electromagnetic flowmeter also monitors the flow of the water inlet pipeline. These flowmeters have an intuitive display, are easy to use, have a long life, and have high accuracy. In addition, a type of ultrasonic flowmeter is used for small diameter pipelines.

2. Pressure pump station monitoring:
The remote monitoring terminal and two different types of liquid level transmitters are used for this matter. Three types of pressure transmitters monitor the water outlet pressure.

The platform software analyzes the data and as a result, alarms are sent to the operators if necessary.

3. Water treatment and water plant monitoring:
The remote monitoring terminal, an ultrasonic level transmitter, and two different types of liquid level transmitters work together to monitor water tower and pool level and upload the resulting data to the big data platform.

Therefore, using the mentioned equipment, we can obtain various data related to water (DO, PH, turbidity, and residual chlorine ).

4. Monitoring the Water Supply Pipeline:
An intelligent system is designed for this purpose. This system consists of an intelligent remote terminal, two different types of pressure transmitters, electromagnetic flowmeters, and a water quality sensor. Using this equipment, the system can remotely monitor different parameters of water supply pipelines.

Using this system, we can timely figure out and predict pipe bursts and pipeline challenges.

5.Secondary water supply:
The secondary water supply system consists of an air pressure tank, a water pump, an electric control system, and an auxiliary small pump.

If the water consumption is more than the output of the small pump, three different types of pressure transmitters will figure out the pressure drop of the fluid in the pipe.

After analysis and calculation, the controller sends a signal to the frequency converter based on the result, and the variable frequency converter controls the operation of the variable frequency main pump and sets the number of water pumps based on the water consumption.
