The industrial control technology is basically the use of the industrial control system. The industrial control system includes various variety of control systems and encapsulated equipment, hardware, devices, instrumentation network, and control in order for operating and automating industrial processes.

Uses of Industrial Control Technology?

Every industrial control system is defined and built on the basis of the functionality that is required by a particular industry. Supervisory control and data acquisition is basically overseeing the control at the supervisory level. SCADA is not made for providing full control but is rather more focused on the managerial level. The supervisory control and data acquisition system are basically made up of different sorts of devices like Programmable Logic controllers and different hardware and are distributed to different sorts of locations. Supervisory control and data acquisition system have the capability of getting and transmitting the data and they are usually encapsulated with a human-machine interface which provides the capability for centralized monitoring and controlling different process inputs and outputs.

The multiple systems can be used with the distributed control system. In a distributed control system a set point has to be maintained by the controller.

If I talk about a process control unit the process control unit is actually a part of the process control system. It is actually a microprocessor-based controller, which has functionalities of the automatic residual of compound loop control for various kinds of industrial process applications. The process control unit has a set point controller which has to be maintained.
