WHAT IS A TEMPERATURE TRANSMITTER?
A Temperature Transmitter converts a signal from a temperature probe into a 2 wire 4-20mA output where as a Temperature Converter normally has a separate power supply and is also known as a 4 wire device. The output from a Temperature Converter can be current or voltage where as the Transmitter is only available with a 4-20mA output. The temperature probe is selectable from Thermocouples, Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTD's), mV, Resistance, and Potentiometers.
