Information About Fiber Optic Cables
Fiber Optic Cables
Fiber-optic cables transmit data by modulating light waves. These light waves travel along optic threads made of either glass or plastic, surrounded by layers of protective material. Because the cable uses light to communicate data digitally, it is faster, is more reliable and can carry more data than the wire alternative. However, fiber-optic cable is also very expensive and more fragile than traditional methods of transmitting data.
How to Test Fiber-Optic Cables
Fiber-optic cables are used as networking cables to connect networking devices, such as hubs and switches, to other devices for quick data transfer. If you find that your fiber-optic cable is not performing optimally, you can easily test it with the help of a fiber-optic cable tester.
