15 mm Sensing distance, Normally Open, Cable type connection

Regarding Capacitive proximity sensor, when the sensor power is on, the oscillation of the current is close to 0V. When the object approaches to the sensor, the capacitance will be increased and the oscillation of the current is increased. This output section will be operated by increasing the oscillation. The CR30-15DN is a non-contact detector (sensor) which detects the sensing target when it comes close. The diameter of sensing face is 30mm and the sensing distance is also 15mm which makes the product able to detect objects in this active area.

Connection

The CR30-15DN features standard cable type connection. This black cable covers the sensor's 3 wires. It is 5 mm in diameter and 2 meters in length, and is made of PVC.

Sensing specifications

This Autonics CR Series sensor's sensing side diameter is 30 mm. The maximum distance that this sensor can detect its standard sensing target, which is a 50x50x1 mm piece of iron, is 15 mm. This so-called sensing distance differs from one sensing target to another, based on their material, size, etc.

Although almost no one talks about the setting distance of an inductive sensor, it is a big deal to know this concept. Every sensor can detect its standard sensing target in a specified range, no matter what changes occur in ambient temperature, voltage fluctuations, etc. This distance, which is called the setting distance, is from 0 to 10.5 mm for this proximity sensor.

Control output 

The output of the CR30-15DN is NPN Normally Open. NPN stands for Negative-Positive-Negative transistors.

There are limitations in temperature and humidity in which CR30-15DN capacitive sensor is used:
